Every Organization with 5 or more employees is
required by law to have a written Health & Safety
Policy. Organizations with less than 5 employees
must still have a safety Policy however it is not a
requirement for it to be in writing. The
policy ensures that
everybody knows the requirements, aims and
arrangements. A Health & Safety Policy should be
written specifically for the organisation to ensure
that it is fit for purpose, practical and complies
with the law.
There are many companies that offer a generic Health
& Safety Policy that can be paid for
and downloaded on the Internet, for the user to
simply fill in their names and sign. This will not take into
account an organizations size, structure and
specific activities and is therefore unlikely to
ensure that an organization is meeting its legal
health and safety requirements.
All our Health & Safety Policies are prepared to
specifically take into account our clients size,
structure and activities. For small organizations
this will require a telephone consultation and a
client questionnaire to be completed. For larger
organizations or those with more complex activities,
visits to premises may be required.
