The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
2007 requires principal contractor and other
contractors to identify hazards and assess risks
relating to their work. Principal contractors
are required to develop a Construction Phase Plan
that manages health and safety of the construction
and develop the information from the Pre
Construction Phase Plan. The Construction
Phase Plan will determine hazards and risks, who is
responsible for implementing and controlling risks,
health & safety and how the construction work will
be controlled. The Construction Phase Plan
must be completed before work can commence on site,
however most projects will also require the
Construction Phase Plan to be continuously developed
and reviewed as work proceeds to cover all aspects
of the work that will be undertaken.
